The Hall Institute publishes The State of the Garden State, an academic journal featuring the major research conducted by the Institute during its first year of operation. The 295-page hardcover book contains 12 chapters on topics such as education, health care, the economy and the environment.

Making Public Higher Education Affordable in New Jersey, a white paper on rising college tuition costs is released at a Statehouse press conference. Authored by Hall Institute Trustee Robert P. Haney Jr., the study finds that rising tuition costs and insufficient state aid are jeopardizing the benefits New Jersey enjoys from its educated, highly productive population.
